About Us

Founded in 2005, Biodesix discovers and commercializes cancer tests (diagnostics) that help patients and their doctors make more informed decisions about treatment based on a patient’s unique molecular profile. We’re advancing precision medicine by helping oncologists provide the right patient with the right treatment at the right time.

Unlike most cancer diagnostics, our tests require only a blood draw (instead of a biopsy, where a sample of the tumor is removed from a patient’s body) and results are available within 72 hours. Biodesix collaborates with leading researchers and builds strategic partnerships with biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies to develop companion diagnostics and build our pipeline of new products.

Biodesix’ research and development activities are conducted with the highest clinical integrity, including external validation with medical experts and properly designed and controlled clinical trials. Our internal controls are designed to ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local statutes and regulations relevant to providers of healthcare services.

  • Medical

    Biodesix is able to offer a broad range of medical plans, including high-deductible health plans, PPOs and HMOs. Medical plan options vary by state, and may also include regional carriers.

  • Dental and Vision

    Biodesix offers optional Dental and Vision coverage. Dental carriers offer a high and a low national dental PPO plan and also a DMO plan in many states. Vision offers a high and low vision plan nationally. These plan options ensure that you can choose the best plan and carrier for your individual dental and vision needs. In order to select Dental and Vision insurance you must be covered under Health insurance.

  • Basic Life Insurance & AD&D

    Biodesix offers company-paid basic life and accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D) plans.

  • Group Short-Term Disability Insurance

    The Company provides a policy that may replace up to 60% of your salary for qualifying disabilities, for up to a maximum benefit of 173 days.

  • Group Long-Term Disability Insurance

    The Company provides a policy that may replace up to 60% of your salary for qualifying disabilities. A waiting period of 180 days will apply.

  • Flexible Spending Account (FSA) Plans

    FSAs help you pay for eligible out-of-pocket health care and dependent day care expenses on a pre-tax basis. You determine your projected expenses for the Plan Year and then elect to set aside a portion of each paycheck into your FSA

  • Supplemental Life Insurance

    If you want extra protection for yourself and your eligible dependents, you have the option to elect supplemental life insurance. Amounts above guaranteed issue and certain coverage increases must be approved by the insurance carrier.

  • Supplemental Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance

    AD&D covers death or dismemberment from an accident only. Supplemental AD&D coverage ranges from $25,000 to $750,000.

  • Short- and Long-Term Disability Insurance

    Disability insurance plans are designed to provide income protection while you recover from a disability. This coverage not only ensures that you are able to receive some income while out on disability; it also provides absence management support that helps facilitate your return to work. Several short- and long-term disability plan options are available.

  • Retirement Plan

    Employees may contribute into a 401(k) up to the maximum amount allowed by the Internal Revenue Code limits. You can choose to make contributions before paying taxes and/or you can choose to make after-tax contributions through your plan’s Roth 401(k) account options. You will be eligible the first of the month following two months of service and must be at least 21 years of age. Your contributions are automatically 100% vested.

  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

    The EAP is available at no cost, even if you don’t enroll in group benefits. You and your family members may access free, confidential counseling and referral services.     These programs are offered at group rates with the convenience of automatic payroll deductions. Enrollment in Critical Illness Insurance and the Group Legal Services Plan is restricted to the 30- day enrollment period after your initial benefits eligibility date and during annual Open Enrollment.   • Aflac Supplemental Insurance

    Aflac has a range of products including accident insurance, cancer insurance, hospital confinement and intensive care insurance and specified disease insurance. Enrollment in Aflac voluntary benefits is restricted to the 30-day enrollment period after you’re initially eligible for benefits and annual Open Enrollment.

  • Paid Holidays

    Biodesix provides its employees with eight paid holidays and two floating holidays per year.

  • Vacation

    All full-time regular employees are provided with generous paid-time-off benefits.

  • Sick Time

    All full-time regular employees will accrue up to sixty-four hours of sick leave per year.
